Cuttyhunk by Ag Synclair

in the halo of
gay head cliffs

moorings

masts rise
to greet the stars

we thank the drunken sailors
plovers
and cranes

we follow them here
we listen to their stories

drink the sailors whiskey
marvel at the deep swirl of it all

then strip down
to sleep in the blue depth

hidden from the jagged
the disconnected.
